Coverage for five years from delivery
Spartan Sails guarantees the materials and workmanship of the Spartan Hippeis Stackpack for a period of five (5) years from the original date of delivery. This guarantee is provided subject to the conditions below and applies to the original purchaser.
What is covered
Spartan Sails will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part shown to have failed directly because of:
- Defective workmanship in the manufacture of the Stackpack.
- Failure of stitching, seams or reinforcement caused by a manufacturing defect.
- Failure of fabric, webbing, zips, fasteners or other supplied components resulting from a defect in the material itself.
- Incorrect assembly or installation where installation was carried out by Spartan Sails.
Any accepted repair or replacement will be provided without charge for the defective materials or associated workmanship.
Conditions of the guarantee
- The Stackpack must be correctly fitted, used and maintained for its intended marine purpose.
- Reasonable care must be taken to prevent unnecessary wear, abrasion, and damage.
- The Stackpack must be properly secured and must not be allowed to flog excessively in strong winds.
- Zips, fasteners and moving components should be kept clean and maintained where appropriate.
- Significant salt contamination should be rinsed with fresh water and the product allowed to dry where practical before prolonged storage.
- Any defect must be reported within a reasonable period after it becomes apparent.
- Spartan Sails must be given an opportunity to inspect the product before third-party repair or alteration.
- Proof of purchase may be required.
What is not covered
This guarantee does not cover deterioration or damage resulting from:
- Normal wear and tear.
- Fading, staining, weathering or gradual colour change caused by sunlight, UV exposure, or the marine environment.
- Mould, mildew, dirt, or contamination.
- Abrasion against spars, rigging, guard wires, or other equipment.
- Damage caused by excessive flogging or failure to secure the Stackpack correctly.
- Storm, exceptional weather, or other extreme environmental conditions.
- Accidental damage, misuse, neglect, or inadequate maintenance.
- Damage caused by animals, vermin, or external objects.
- Third-party repairs, modifications, or alterations made without prior agreement from Spartan Sails.
- Incorrect installation where installation was not carried out by Spartan Sails.
- Changes to the yacht, boom, mast, sail, lazy-jack system, or associated equipment after manufacture.
- Failure of equipment or fittings not supplied by Spartan Sails.
Components inherently subject to wear through normal use, including zips, sliders, clips, buckles, shock cord, and similar hardware, are covered against manufacturing defects but not normal wear or deterioration arising from use.
Assessment and remedy
All guarantee claims are subject to inspection and assessment by Spartan Sails.
A replacement component or product does not restart the original five-year guarantee period. Cover continues for the remainder of the original period.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, the guarantee does not cover consequential losses, removal or refitting costs, transport costs, loss of use of the vessel, marina charges, or other indirect expenses.
